Sand laden truck ploughs into sheep herd killing 40 sheep

Over 40 sheep of a herd was crushed to death when a sand-laden truck lost control and ploughed into the herd in Peedampalli near Sulur.

Over 40 sheep of a herd was crushed to death when a sand-laden truck lost control and ploughed into the herd in Peedampalli near Sulur.

A group of five sheep farmers including Lakshmanan, and Rajendran of Kalangal village near Sulur were tending herds of 500 sheep and they were leading the herds to pastures in Pappampatti when the sand-laden lorry ploughed into the herd and killed over 40 sheep.23 other sheep were critically injured in the accident. 

The total loss of sheep is put at Rs.6 lakhs.Sulur police have rushed to the spot and are investigating.
