Prime suspect in Sasikumar murder case held


Coimbatore, December 26

A Crime Branch-CBCID-special police team arrested 28-year-old Mubarak, one of the key suspect in the sensational Sasikumar murder case that shook the textile city in September 2016.

Sasikumar, BJP District Spokesperson, was waylaid and hacked to death by some persons in GN Mills Post area which triggered a riot like situation in the area.

Considered as a breakthrough in the investigation of the murder case,  Mubarak was arrested at his hideout near Pollachi by the police team who surrounded him in the wee hours today.

Earlier, the CB (CID) team arrested Saddam (27), Abu Thahir (27) of Saibaba colony and Subair of G.M. Nagar. It has been on the look-out for Mubarak.

The police also announced a reward of Rs. 2 lakhs for giving vital clues regarding his whereabouts. Mubarak would be produced in court this afternoon.
