Anganwadi workers demand regularisation of service

Coimbatore, December 20

The Anganwadi workers staged a protest to draw the attention of the Government at the District Collectorate here today to their demands including making them permanent government staff. 



They demanded that employees who have put in 35 years of service must be made permanent staff. The arrears for the 21 month period from January 2016 must be immediately released as per the recommendation of the Pay Commission. They also demanded that Saturday should declared a holiday and like schools they must also be entitled to summer vacations. 

The protest was held from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Shanthi, President, Anganwadi Workers' Association, Alamelu Mangai, treasurer and , Stella, secretary took part in the event.
