The inquiry, ordered by District Collector Christuraj, follows complaints of financial irregularities amounting to Rs 1.56 crore involving 298 instances over the past few years.

The district administration had previously formed a committee to investigate the allegations. The committee's report, after examining expense receipts from January 6, 2020, to March 31, 2022, reportedly found discrepancies, prompting action under local body laws as directed by the then District Collector Vineet.
