Alcohol and Drug-Free Kinathukadavu Is My Goal: MLA Vignesh

TVK MLA Vignesh has warned that he would mobilise the public and stage protests at police stations, if TASMAC outlets in the Kinathukadavu constituency are found selling liquor illegally beyond permitted hours.

Coimbatore: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA Vignesh, who secured a notable victory in the Kinathukadavu Assembly constituency — long considered a stronghold of the AIADMK — received an enthusiastic welcome from party cadres and members of the public at his constituency office in Sundarapuram, Coimbatore.

Addressing the public, Vignesh stated that immediate steps had been initiated to resolve drinking water issues in the constituency through discussions with officials from the Water Supply and Drainage Board as well as the Municipal Corporation.

Speaking to reporters later, the MLA said he was committed to transforming Kinathukadavu into a model constituency in Tamil Nadu. He further asserted that not even a single rupee from constituency development funds would be used for personal expenditure.

Vignesh expressed confidence that Kinathukadavu would be developed into a progressive constituency equipped with comprehensive infrastructure and public amenities, similar to the distinct developmental strengths seen across various constituencies in Coimbatore district.

Emphasising his commitment to eliminating alcohol and narcotic substance abuse in the constituency, Vignesh issued a strong warning against illegal liquor sales. He stated that if TASMAC outlets within Kinathukadavu are found selling liquor beyond the officially permitted hours through black-market channels, he would mobilise the public and lay siege to the concerned police stations.

He also assured that steps would be taken to address the long-pending issues surrounding the Vellalore garbage dump yard, which has remained a major concern for residents in the region.
