Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran Inspects Mudhalvar Padaippagam at Ganapathy Nagar

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Mudhalvar Padaippagam facility located in Ganapathy Nagar, North Zone. He reviewed the operations, interacted with students attending summer special training classes, and inspected ongoing canal desilting works in the area.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran conducted a detailed inspection of the Mudhalvar Padaippagam located in Ganapathy Nagar under the North Zone of Coimbatore Corporation on Tuesday (19.05.2026). During his visit, he reviewed the facility's operations and inquired about various services being provided to students.



The Coimbatore Corporation has been implementing various developmental projects across its five zones – East, West, North, South, and Central – for the benefit of the public. Specifically, to assist students preparing for competitive examinations including TNPSC, UPSC, Banking, and Railway services, two state-of-the-art Mudhalvar Padaippagam facilities have been established. These centers are located at Prabhu Nagar, Kavundampalayam in Ward No. 33 of the West Zone, and at Ganapathy Nagar in Ward No. 20 of the North Zone, each built at an estimated cost of Rs 3.36 crore with ground floor, first floor, and second floor.



These modern facilities feature extensive libraries housing over 48,000 books covering various competitive examination subjects. The centers are equipped with free internet facilities, air-conditioned consultation halls, co-working spaces with computer and office infrastructure, services for budding entrepreneurs, facilities for information technology students, and comprehensive services for job seekers and entrepreneurs.

The Commissioner personally visited the Mudhalvar Padaippagam operating in the 4th Block area of Ganapathy Nagar, Ward No. 20, North Zone, and conducted a thorough inspection. He observed the summer special training classes in Chess, Abacus, and Digital training being conducted for students and children preparing for competitive examinations.



During his visit, Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran interacted with students and urged them to make proper use of the training classes being offered. He encouraged them to utilize all the available facilities effectively to prepare for their future.



Following the inspection of Mudhalvar Padaippagam, the Commissioner visited the branch canal area running from FCI Road to Singanallur Lake in Ward No. 28 of the North Zone. He inspected the ongoing canal desilting works being undertaken by the Corporation over a length of approximately 1.37 kilometers to ensure smooth water flow during the monsoon season without any obstruction. He instructed the officials to expedite the desilting works.



The inspection was attended by City Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, Assistant Executive Engineer Sathyamoorthy, Assistant Engineers Elangovan and L.S. Mahesh, Library Officer Saranya, Coordinator Akshaya, and other Corporation officials.
