6 kg ganja seized in Coimbatore's Madukkarai area; 2 arrested

The Special Task Force (STF) police arrested two persons, including a college student, involved in the sale of ganja in Madukkarai area of Coimbatore and seized 6 kg of ganja from them.


Coimbatore: The Special Task Force (STF) police received a tip-off that ganja was being sold at Madukkarai Marappalam area in Coimbatore. Following this, a special police team patrolled the area.

The STF police who spotted two youth standing suspiciously in the area questioned the youth and searched them only to discover that they were carrying ganja.



The arrested youth have been identified as Santhosh Kumar (22), a native of Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district. He is currently studying at a private educational institution in Gandhipuram.

Another youth, Pooventhan (21), a resident of Sundakkamuthur, was studying in the first year of a private college.

It was also revealed after investigation that the two youth had travelled to Andhra Pradesh by train to buy 10 kg of ganja and sold 4 kg of ganja.

Following this, the special cell arrested the duo and seized 6 kg of ganja from their possession.
