Registration Opens for WorldSkills Competition 2027 – Coimbatore Collector Announces

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced that registrations have opened for India Skills Competition 2027, which will select competitors to represent India at World Skills Competition Shanghai China 2026. Students aged 16-25 from Coimbatore district can participate in over 60 skill categories.


Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has announced that registrations for India Skills Competition 2027 have commenced to select competitors who will represent India at the World Skills Competition to be held in Shanghai, China in 2026.

The Collector stated that Tamil Nadu continues to be a leading state in India Skills Competition, and that competitors from Tamil Nadu have won various medals and awards in Indian and World Skills competitions held in previous years, bringing glory to the state.

In the recently concluded national-level India Skills Competition, Tamil Nadu achieved a remarkable second position in the overall rankings. Twelve competitors from Tamil Nadu have been selected for World Skills Shanghai China 2026.

Through this competition, young people get an excellent opportunity to showcase their professional skills at national and international levels. Competitors who succeed in district, state, zonal and national level competitions will be given the opportunity to represent India at the World Skills Competition.

Students from engineering, polytechnic, arts and science colleges, industrial training institutes and other educational institutions in Coimbatore district, as well as young entrepreneurs aged 16 to 25 years (age limit varies depending on skill category), can participate in the competition in over 60 professional skill categories to showcase their abilities.

Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has invited eligible persons wishing to participate in this competition to register and apply at https://www.skillindiadigital.gov.in/india-skills-competition. Other details related to the competitions can be obtained through the website.
