Police officials conducted an awareness drive in the city's suburbs on crimes against children, women and cybercrime
Coimbatore: An awareness program was held on Thursday in the suburbs of Coimbatore region on crimes against women and children, as well as cyber crime.
As per the orders of the city’s Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam, police officers including inspectors and sub-inspectors conduct programs to create awareness about cybercrime and crimes against children and women.
As part of one such drive, an awareness program was held in Karumathampatti, Tadagam, Karunya Nagar and Perur police stations by women help desk inspectors, sub-inspectors and other police officers. They later distributed leaflets and advised people to contact officials through the child helpline number and to report complaints on cybercrime through the number 155260. The numbers, 1098 and 155260 will be active round-the-clock through which public can reach out for help as well as queries.
