Today marks the 75th Independence Day of India. In turn, Tirupur District Collector Vinith Sikkanna hoisted the national flag at the Government Arts College and accepted the parade honor of the police.
He then presented certificates of appreciation to the 69-odd policemen who had excelled in the city and district of Tirupur.
He also presented certificates of appreciation to 106 people from various government departments and volunteers.
He also provided welfare assistance of Rs 4 crore 45 lakh 74 thousand to various government departments.
The event was attended by many including Metropolitan Police Commissioner Vanitha and District Superintendent of Police Sesang Sai.
Performances have been canceled, as the Coronavirus restrictions is in effect. Permission was also denied to the public.
