Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran hoisted the National Flag and presented certificates of appreciation to the 350 frontline personnel who excelled during the Coronavirus period.
Special arrangements were made for the 75th Independence Day celebrations at the Coimbatore VOC Grounds.
District Collector Sameeran accepted the guard of honour from the police forces and then, he hoisted the national flag.
Following this, he presented certificates of appreciation and medals to 350 people, including medical college hospital doctors, health workers, and police officers, for their outstanding service during the Corona period.
Due to the spread of the corona, student art shows were canceled. Following this, on the orders of the District Collector, the Tashildar and Deputy Tashildar will visit the houses of the freedom fighters and they will be honored with shawls and giving certificates.
Special security arrangements were made at various places in Coimbatore to coincide with the Independence Day celebrations. Of these, more than 1,500 police were on security duty. All who came to the ground were admitted, after a thorough examination. All places, including the sanitizer, including the fever measurement, were seen and then allowed.
Western Region IG Sudhakar, DIG Muthusamy, District Superintendent of Police Selvanagaratnam, District Revenue Officer, Assistant Collector and many other high officials were present.
