Coimbatore Singanallur police seized 74 unattended two-wheelers found parked for long periods along roadsides and in public places. Police have launched an investigation to determine whether any of the vehicles were stolen or used in criminal activities.
Coimbatore: Police seized 74 unattended two-wheelers found abandoned in various parts of the Singanallur police station limits during a special vehicle inspection drive.
Police said they had received information that several two-wheelers had been left unattended under suspicious circumstances for long periods along roadsides, streets and other public places. Following this, a team led by Singanallur Sub-Inspector Dinesh Babu conducted intensive checks across the area.
During the operation, police identified and seized 74 two-wheelers that had reportedly been lying unattended in streets and lanes, with no one coming forward to claim ownership. The vehicles were subsequently brought to the Singanallur police station premises.
Police said no one has so far claimed ownership of the seized vehicles. Inspector Arjun Kumar has registered a case under provisions relating to unclaimed property.
