Pookaari showcases the best of designers Shivan and Narresh

Pookaari, the curated designer fashion store that is the brainchild of city-based Shri Vyshnavi Annush, brought home the wedding collections of ace designers Shivan and Narresh. At this display were a plethora of garments and accessories crafted exclusively for this wedding season. This collection included a mix of evening wear, cocktail wear, ethnic wear, party wear apparels for women and also an exclusive section for men too.

Designer Naresh was in town to interact with customers that included a mix of young and the old. Speaking to SimpliCity in between offering his expert suggestions to one of them, Naresh said “We have drawn inspiration for our collections from a French artist, Henri Julien Felix Rousseau, who created masterpieces in art. A few of the garments have the Babboon print. We have also the skein work where 3D geometric flowers that are made out of very thin gold resin are hand-crafted into our garments.”

In a nut-shell, the wedding season collection of Shivan and Narresh is wearable and maintainable. Each garment is as unique as the other and every piece is a reflection of the designer’s creativity and innovation. As we take a closer look at the garments that are on display, curator Vyshnavi explains to us, a piece that the designers have christened as 'bikini sari'. This one, we are told is a ready-to-wear sari that is paired with palazzo pants. Looks stunning and this one is sure to keep anyone comfortable.

“People from across the country have realized that when it comes to dressing up, less is more and no one likes the idea of wearing heavy apparels. Our garments have been designed and created on these lines.” Narresh said. At this curated show that was dedicated to the wedding season, close to 85 garments and about 15 pieces of accessories including earrings, footwear, chain and pendants, a  creation of Shivan and Narresh were on display.

This is the second time that Shivan and Narresh are showcasing their collection in Coimbatore. They like the Coimbatore crowd as much as the natives like their garments. Motivated by the response that they have received, Vyshnavi has plans of hosting Shivan and Narresh yet again. The designers promise to be back in the city, the following year with their summer collection.
