Mobile money exchange vehicle courtesy India Post

The central government had announced that the Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes will not be valid and people can exchange the notes at banks and post offices. Since the announcement was made the public is thronging banks and post offices to exchange their old notes for new currency.

The head post office and the sub-post office too are exchanging this banned currency. Due to the inadequate exchange points for exchanging the notes the public is facing great difficulty in exchanging their old notes.

Taking note of this situation and in order to facilitate the smooth exchange of currency, India Post has arranged a mobile exchange unit where people can exchange their notes. Since this facility came into being, a large number of people have benefitted through this mobile money exchange vehicle.

One of the beneficiaries stated that this vehicle is very helpful as it enables saving time while exchanging currency. Money can be exchanged and also can be deposited at this mobile exchange counter. People can exchange money using this facility by providing a copy of their identity proof and can get up to Rs.4,000 rupees of the new currency.
