Three of family dead, six others injured in car-truck collision

Three persons, including Lakshmi (57), and her son Ratheesh (36) of Sulur died, and six others of a family were critically injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Olapalayam in Vellakkoil.

Police said that the mishap occurred when a family of nine members including Lakshmi and her two sons Ratheesh (36) and Rupesh (34) of Sulur and their family members were travelling in a car from Thanjavur to Coimbatore. 

Olapalayam police rushed to the spot and rescued Rupesh, his wife Sumathi (32), children Deepshita (7) Lakshmi (2), Abhilash (7), Dirosh (5) and Ratheesh's wife Veena (30) and sent them to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital

While Rupesh died on the way to the hospital others are admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.
