District Collector T.N Hariharan has requested the public who have applied for the electronic ration card 'Smart Card' may approach their Public Distribution Shops (PDS) on or before 10th September, 2017 and get their cards.
"In the district, there are 1,419 PDS and the distribution of the electronic ration card for 9,79,324 applicants are being processed. Based on the Aadhar information, the Smart Cards have been produced and are being distributed through the PDS outlets. So far, 5,13,000 smart cards have been issued and the remaining cards have been sent to the concerned PDS. Hence, those who have not collected their cards and those who are yet to apply for the smart cards are hereby asked to make use of the opportunity and enroll on or before 10th September, 2017", the press release from the Collectorate states.
