Residents of Aavarampalayam urge highways dept to expedite over bridge work.

Close to 50 residents of Aavarampalayam area staged an unprecedented protest urging the highway department to expedite the over bridge work that's ongoing at the Ganapathy railway crossing.

MLA Karthik of Singanallur Constituency also took part in the protest along with the residents. The protestors alleged that the decision of the highways department to reduce the breadth of the bridge would yield no benefit to the people hence the highways department should withdraw the idea and expedite the process as planned.

However, it is reported that the work in progress has been slowed down by the highways department due to issues in land acquisition.
