Following strict vigil, District Collectorate wore a deserted look on Public Grievances day.



The tightened security measures put in place in view of the growing number of petitioners attempting self-immolation tactic to pressurize the district administration to act fast, the Collectorate campus wore a deserted look today, with very less number of petitioners attending the grievances day meet.



The collectorate staff were also put to through thorough screening before been permitted to enter and also the vehicles of petitioners were not allowed inside but asked to park outside the campus.

Recently, Saravanakumar a resident of Sulur created a flutter in the collectorate campus when he tried to self- immolate himself and his family members in protest against inordinate delay in issuing house site patta recently. 



Following such unforeseen incidents, the district administration which woke up to the fact, put in place strict vigil on Public grievances day. Hence, the usual petitioners crowd was completely missing making the busy campus look deserted.
