Controversial Smart City CEO appointment comes to end as the incumbent resigns in a huff.

Following the wide spread public cry and ire against the controversial appointment of 28-year-old R.Suganya, as Chief Executive Officer of Coimbatore Smart Cities Limited (CSCL), Suganya has submitted her formal resignation to the concerned officials of the Smart City expressing her desire to quit the post.

With this the reign of 28 year old inexperienced woman, who was selected to the CEO post for extraneous considerations comes to an end.

The press release from the Corporation affirms the same and further states that R.Sukanya, CEO of the Smart City Project has submitted her resignation due to mounting public pressure.

In recent days, the public ire and political activism have turned against the civic body and gained momentum. There was many accusing fingers pointed at the CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan for acting at the behest of Minister SP Velumani and appointing a relative new comer for a vital managerial position involving the implementation of Rs.1500 crore projects for the city modernization project named Smart cities project.

Political parties of all hues including DMK, PMK and BJP joined in the bandwagon and branded it as a political appointment and threatened  to approach court to nullify the appointment

With this the tenure of R. Sukanya, holding a MBA with near nil experience in public governance and the daughter of former MLA holding the position of CEO of Coimbatore Smart cities Project, comes to a desirable end .
