Hans Raj Varma, Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Local Administration held a review meeting with District Officials to take stock of the dengue out break and prevailing situation in rural areas of the District.
Instructing that zonal committees, should be formed under District Collector T.N.Hariharan and medical teams should carry out dengue control measures on 6 days of the week on rotation basis, he said the officials would be fined for dereliction of duty, if they are found to be not implementing anti-dengue measures in rural areas.

Crating awareness among people on dengue is vital step in containing fever, he said field visits should be carried out by BDO and other officials at panchayat union level, and mazdoors deputed as domestic breeding checker in panchayat limits.
Instructing the health workers to eradicate larval growth in all areas and undertake dengue prevention measures including fogging and fumigation carried out on a war-footing he said the people should be beware of mosquito breeding sites and destroy them.
The the monitoring medical teams should submit daily reports to the Asst. Director of Health about their visits in every village.
