Five persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment for fatally assaulting Rajesh Kumar, a youth of Sengadu near Pappanaickenpalayam by a Special court here.
The court sentenced Ramakrishnan, Amit Kumar, Karthik, Sakthivel and Arunpandi for fatally assaulting the victim, who had later died in the hospital.
Rajesh Kumar was attacked with lethal weapons by a group of seven persons due to previous enmity in Avarampalayam area and he succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to hospital in October 2015.
Race course police have filed a murder case on the five persons and the trial was conducted in Special court.
The judge who delivered his judgment pronounced all guilty of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
