Ranjith Kumar (36) of Mettur, near Podanur and a Hindu Munnani functionary who had consumed poison on August 15 succumbed today.
Ranjith Kumar was admitted to and was undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Medical college hospital after he consumed poison (toilet cleaning acid).
The said person is said to have attempted suicide on two earlier occasions too alleging police harassment meted out to him in Sasikumar murder case.
The deceased is the brother of Anathkumar, who also attempted suicide soon after the Sasikumar was murdered in September last.
