CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan inspected Government Medical college Hospital and dengue ward there to take stock of the situation regarding the spread of treatment of patients affected by dengue.

The outbreak of dengue in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts have claimed many lives and fatalities are reportedly high in Coimbatore district. The rural pockets of Pollachi taluk has been one of the highly affected pocket by the outbreak this year.
The official machinery of City Corporation and district administration have been working round the clock and on a war footing to contain the viral fever. Preventive measures including fogging and fumigation, medical camps, field visits by domestic breeding checkers, distribution of Neela vembu decoction are being carried out to contain the fever. Awareness camps are being conducted by the city corporation to educate the public on the health malady fast spreading.
