Following public outcry, roadside trees saved from threat of axe.

Condemning against indiscriminate axing of trees in Kamarajar road in Singanallur the public staged protest which led to heated arguments between highway officials and members of public.

"The Highway workers engaged in the axing of trees pointed to the root system of trees being affected by the newly installed ATM. A private mill which is situated in the vicinity claim that they have not behind the cutting of trees. In the end we don't know who is behind this crude act of cutting trees for no valid reason" said the general public of the area.

Thanks to the opposition raised by the members of the public three trees were saved from the threat of axe, while five trees were felled for no reason.
