Woman trampled to death by wild elephant in Coimbatore

In a tragic incident, a 55-year-old woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in the outskirts of Coimbatore in the early hours on Tuesday.



According to sources, the deceased S. Saradha, a native of Trichy was rearing cattle near Ponnusamy Gounder Farm close Pattiyar Koil Pathi hamlet bordering the Bolampatti Forest Range. A wild elephant, possibly a tusker appeared from the bushes and trampled the woman. Owing to the injuries, the woman died on the spot.



Her mortal remains were retrieved from the spot and sent for post mortem.
