Around 1.47 acres of reserve site land belonging to the City Corporation has been retrieved during the recent drive held by the Corporation Officials, says a press statement issued by the Corporation.
The officials have been conducting such retrieval drives since October, 2016 and have retrieved acres of reserve site worth several crores. As affirmed earlier by the Corporation Commissioner Dr.K. Vijayakarthikeyan, the drive would continue in all five zones until all reserve sites are retrieved.
In the recent drive held in the East zone - Ward No:33, Asoka Nagar, Kalapatti - 23 cents; West Zone - Ward No:16, GP Gardens, Vadavalli - 13.68 cents; North Zone - Ward No 43, Adhirshalakshmi Gardens, Vellakinar Pirivu - 75.70 cents; South Zone - Ward No:87, Bharathi Nagar, Kuniamuthur - 6 cents; Central Zone- Ward No: 48, Selvakumarasamy Nagar - 28.02 cents, so totally 1.47 acres of reserve site has been retrieved.
Boards have been installed at these retrieved reserve sites indicating ownership of the site entitled to City Corporation and also warning violators of legal action.
