In view of the Kalaignar Karunanidhi birth day celebrations a function was organized on behalf the District wing (North) of DMK in which stainless steel pots were distributed to 1500 women.
R.S.Bharathi, DMK State Organizing Secretary who distributed the utensils and spoke to the media said that the free LPG cylinder scheme was piloted by DMK Government when it was in power in 2006 and now it has been nullified.
“The womenfolk are highly affected as they are being forced to use firewood Chula stoves, and cancellation of ration cards, and lack of drinking water supply. The womenfolk should be prepared to face the civic poll and later parliamentary elections”, he said.
Muthusamy, Coordinator DMK North District presided over the function.
