The death of 60 plus children in state-run Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital (BRD) Gorakhpur has put the entire nation in melancholy. On August 10th, 23 children admitted at the encephalitis ward of the BRD hospital suffocated to death due to lack of oxygen. Since then, the death toll increased to 60 plus children who have all lost their precious lives due to government's apathy.

Lighting of candles, floral tributes and silence was observed by the TPDK members and children in memory of the poor souls departed in Gorakhpur hospital.
Speaking at the ceremony, K.Ramakrishnan of TPDK said that "The central BJP party has remarked the quality of medical studies in Tamil Nadu as "sub-standard" but this heart-rending incident claiming the innocent lives of 60 children in BJP's territory Gorakhpur clearly indicates the poor governance and lack of medical facilities in their state".
