Help abolish child labour and let your peers get back to school again Sub collector Gayathri Krishnan exhorted over 900 students who have gathered at a prize distribution ceremony for various competitions held to highlight the plight of children who are forced into child labour.
Addressing the students, Gayathri Krishnan said that "the educational sector in Tamilnadu is one among the best in the whole country, and infrastructure including school building, labs and libraries are provided even in rural areas.

Gayathri Krishnan said that the formative years as a school student is very vital period where the character of self-reliance and determination could be developed by every student.
“The student’s community should also strive to abolish child labour by identifying children who are denied schooling but made to work in hazardous industries. Let them know that there are educational opportunities for them given by National Child Labour project, the staff of which would rescue them from child labour and put them back in school” Gayathri Krishnan said.
Prizes were distributed to school students who have won in poetry, painting, oratory and essay competitions on abolishing child labour. Over 900 students for over 40 school in Pollachi educational district took part in the function.
The prize distribution function was organized by National Child Labour Project and Lions club of Pollachi. Vijayakumar, Director of NCLP and officials took part in the function.
