It is imperative to restructure and change the school curriculum to suit the needs of the present times, and it should be made in tune with the social, economic, technological and political advances and suited to the current times said Anathakrishnan, Educationist and former VC of Anna University.

Ananthakrishnan who took part in the public hearing organized as part of the restructuring the school curriculum later addressed the media said that the student community got affected as the syllabus has not been restructured in the past decade.
"And this has adversely affected the interests of the students who are hoping to pursue various courses and degrees and preparing for national level eligibility tests", the educationist said.
The restructuring of school syllabus would give lot a stress for technology and application-oriented curriculum and students from class one to plus two would be benefited by the new restructuring of syllabus.
Teaching community of 8 districts in the region, including Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur and Nilgiris took part and aired their views on the restructuring of school curriculum.
Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor of TNAU, Theodore Baskaran, leading writer and Naturalist took part in the public hearing.
