Mini lorry operators procession throws traffic out of gears for two hours in Coonoor

Condemning against alleged "police harassment" meted out to them the Kothagiri mini lorry operators took out a procession and submitted a petition to DSP Coonoor.



"Fines the to tune of the Rs.1000 is slapped for overloading and often the police personnel on duty confiscate the driving license and ask us to collect it in RTO office without giving any explanation", the operators said.

Due to the operators vehicle procession a traffic snarl ensued in the hill town of Coonoor and it was thrown out of gear.

“We have been implementing only court order which prohibits overloading and overspending, the representation by the operators has been forwarded to Murali Rumba, SP", said DSP Muthamizh.
