Even though the students are denied access to the sprawling VOC ground in the city , which witnessed massive Jallikattu protests in the past , it has been leased out to selective few, including ruling party members alleged Social Activist Traffic Ramasamy.
Briefing the media after visiting the famous landmark of the city the Traffic Ramasamy said that the sprawling ground could be put to use as a playground or for housing projects to house the underprivileged in the city.
“I am contemplating to file cases against the City Corporation Commissioner and District Collector urging them as to why it could not be converted into place for public utility” Traffic Ramasamy said.
“While the Police have foisted false cases of Valarmathi, why a notorious film financier Bothra is spared and not arrested under Goondas act?” Traffic Ramasamy demanded to know.
Traffic Ramasamy also said that he has plan to stage a massive agitation in Marina Beach on August 8 in the name of “Kollaiyane Veliyeru” stressing for various demands.
