Saravanakumar of Sulur created a flutter in the collectorate campus when he tried to self-immolate himself and his family members in protest against inordinate delay in issuing house site patta to him by the district adminstration.
The said man who came to the collectorate with his family members on Public grievances day, poured kerosene on himself on his wife Annapurani and mother and children, when police intervened and rescued them.
Saravanakumar had applied for a house patta for his 4 cents of land, back in 2015 itself to the then district collector Archana Patnaik but the said land document is not being issued to him to this day.
Saravanakumar had tried to immolate himself earlier too, when his demand was not met by the district administration for a long time.
