The 43 crore fly over project in Avinashi - Tiruppur - Palladam - Pollachi - Kochi high way would be completed soon said Chief Minister Edapadi K. Palanismay addressing Bharat Ratna MGR Centenary celebrations organized at Palladam in a grand manner.

Addressing the celebrations the Chief Minister listed out the achievements of his Government and said that the small and marginal fares have benefited a lot by the loan waiver schemes of the Government.

“The Government has waived Rs.145.57 crore cooperative agriculture loans which were pending against farmers, due to which 27,205 farmers have benefited", Edapadi Palanisamy said.

While in the waiver of 100 units of domestic electricity consumption 6.41 lakh families have benefited the Chief minister said and added that Rs.20.29 crores were spent for the distribution of free lap top in which over 14332 lap tops were given to the school students.
There are life -lessons to be learnt from the life of great leader like MGR by the youngsters and students, the Chief minister said.
P. Dhanapal, TN Assembly speaker said “MGR’s has immense mental strength and he faced many challenges and won over them."
Thambidurai, Loksabha Deputy Speaker in his address said, that MGR was a beacon of hope for the downtrodden and he launched many schemes for the welfare of the poor lot.

An exhibition on the life and times of MGR was inaugurated and documentaries were screened on the occasion. Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanismay unveiled the portraits of Dr. MGR and distribute welfare measures to the tune of Rs.220 crores to over 21000 beneficiaries under various Government schemes. Prizes were also distributed for school students who won in various completions organized to commemorate the memory of Bharat Ratna MGR.
