Helping the India Posts, contribute to the environment using their own property, an organisation from the Sidco Industrial Estate has cleaned up an area that belongs to the Coimbatore Industrial Estate Post Office and has planted some samplings inside the campus, here on Sunday.

According to Inspector Posts of Coimbatore South Sub Division, A.N. Chandini Begum said that the 20 cent property was vacant for a long time and had given space to Prosopis Juliflora tree and other small bushes and plants.
“The area was proving a hindrance to local residents for a very long time and some of the residents who were there took up the initiative through an association named Welfare of Residents (WAR),” she said.
The members of the Go Clean and Green Phase II, with the help of the department cleaned up the area using earth movers. All the plants were removed and the land was cleaned.
Members of the association incurred all the cost involved.
Later, four saplings were planted in the site. Around 25 volunteers participated in the event.
