Amma Baby care kit scheme, one of the flagship programmes of former chief minister Jayalalithaa is successfully implemented din the Nilgiris district and so far 11622 mothers and babies have been benefited under the scheme.

Launched in September 2015, the scheme has seen many new born children and their mothers benefited. While 4503 baby care kits were given to new borns in 2014-2015, 3158 and 3030 neo natal babies were benefited under the scheme in 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
So far 931 new burns have been gifted this kit till June 2017 said a press communique issued by the Nilgris district collector Innocent Divya.
Amma baby care kits contain 16 essential items for child care including cotton towe, soap, baby oil, rattle, toys and dress for the new born baby.
