Child Help Line officials rescue 15 days old baby to be sold for Rs.2000


Police and Child Help line officials rescued 15 days old male baby, who was to be sold to childless couple in Thadagam area.



According to Police, Anathi (35) of Ariyalur district is working in ginning factory and Thadagam area and she tried to sell her new born child for mere Rs.2000 to a childless couple, who grew suspicious of her claims.

Following an alert to the Anti-child trafficking officials the police rescued the child and sent it to the child help line orphanage.

Anathi had tried to sell the child as it was born out of wedlock and inquiries with her revealed that she has already sold a child for Rs.50,000 to a Kerala couple a couple of years of back.
