A consultative meeting to augment and overhaul the urban transportation system in the city limits was convened by Special Secretary for Municipal Administration, R.Jeya at the city corporation.
The City Corporation has signed an MOU with GIZ, a German Government agency to implement steps and measures and overhaul the traffic management system in the highly congested city limits.
Measures such as road expansion, laying of smart roads, parking management system, reduction of noise and air pollution due to vehicle emission were discussed at the meeting, which was presided over by CCMC Commissioner Dr.K.Vijayakarthikeyan.
The necessity to pave cycle tracks and pedestrian amenities including construction of pavements and zebra and pelican crossings, wherever necessary was discussed in the meeting.
