The inaugural edition of the Tamilnadu Premier League (TNPL) is to take off in style tomorrow and the first match will be played in Chepauk cricket stadium in which Tuti Patriots and Dindigul Dragons are set to clash.
A fan bar for the cricket fans to enjoy the matches via giant screen has been put in place in Sarvajana School in the city. Brett lee the Australian cricketer, as the mentor of franchisees would take part in the fan bar congregation of cricket lovers and participate in the interactive session arranged for the occasion in the city.
As many as eight TNPL teams are playing in the inaugural edition including Lycia Kovai Kings, Tuti Patriots, Dindigul Dragons, Chepauk Super Gillies, Madurai Super Giant, Rubi Kanchi warriors, Karaikudi Kaalai and VB Tiruvallur veerans.
While Ravichandran Ashwin, the famous India cricketer is the captain of Dindigul Dragons, Murali Vijay is the captain of Lyca Kovai kings. Dinesh Karthik will be the skipper for Tuti Patriots team.
After the group stage clashes which will played in many venues across Tamilnadu the finals will be held on August 20 at the Chepauk stadium.
