Members of the public caught a man red- handed when he was trying to lift coins from temple hundi near Coimbatore Railway Junction.
The man identified as Singh, of Puliankulam was taking out coins with a use of a small stick with a bubble gum stuck on the one end in the Vinayakar temple situated near the railway junction.
Later he was handed over to the police who took him into custody.
