Streams in and around Valparai flooded as monsoon rains intensifies


For the past two consecutive days, monsoon rains has been lashing down in Valparai thereby increasing the water levels of Sholaiyar reservoir and all the adjoining streams like Nadumalai, Koolangal and children's park are flooded with water. 



As the rain water from Valparai hills join the Aliyar dam at the footfills, the water levels at Aliyar are also reported to be increasing at a steady level.



"This kind of steady drizzle through the day is very important for tea plantation and hopefully these rains continue for atleast a week", shared a plantation worker from Nallamudi estate.
