Unidentified miscreants abducted Easwaran, a jeweller of Telungupalayam puthur in a car and robbed jewels worth about 100 sovereigns from him at knife point near Perianaickenpalayam.
According to reliable sources, Eswaran who is running a jewellery making unit was waiting at Saibaba colony bus stop to board a bus to Ooty, when he was abducted on the premise of taking him to Ooty in a taxi. When the car neared Onnipalayam the abductors robbed the jewels in his possession at knife point and threatened to murder him. Eswaran had carried the jewels to supply to the jewellery shops in Ooty.
Eswaran escaped from the abductors and filed a complaint with Perianaickenpalayam police.
The police are on the lookout for the miscreant who abducted the jeweller.
