CCMC Commissioner Dr.K.Vijayakarthikeyan inaugurated Dr.Abdul Kalam Memorial Library at Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, at Renganathapuram. The students themselves cut the ribbon and inaugurated the library, which turned to be the highlight of the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that "Over 8000 books are stocked in the library and students should cultivate reading habit from a young age which would help them transform into successful individuals. And, also the students should not shy off from reading English books instead use the dictionary to find the appropriate meanings and enhance their reading skills".

“The infrastructure of Corporation schools would be upgraded under the smart city mission, and smart school will be established“, Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan added. Post the event, the Commissioner also interacted with the students and motivated them to make use of the library.
