Demanding to allocate lands to set up crematorium for Arunthathiyar community, the cadres of Tamil Puligal petitioned district collector T.N.Hariharan to allot lands to set up crematorium for the community in areas which comes under Karamadai Panchyat union limits.
“The Aruthathiyar community people are not allowed to cremate their dead in general crematorium , so the district administration should come forward to set up crematoriums by allotting lands to the socially oppressed classes in the all the villages in Karamadi union” the petitioners said.
