Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technolgy, Pollachi is conducting three days International Conference on “Renewable Energy and Sustainable environment” starting from July 20th.
As a part of this event, MCET has initiated many projects in its Campus related to RESE theme.
As one of the initiative under “Sustainable Environment” theme, college has developed an urban forestry adopting well known Japanese “Mia-Wagi” method of afforestation. To add more value to this initiative it has collected unique and exotic trees of our region.
There are exactly 120 varieties of different plants will be grown in the pilot measuring 1600 Sq.Ft. This model farm will become a natural forest in ten years’ time facilitating more carbon absorption with less area of plantation.
