Now, the medical ambulances could beat the city traffic snarls with a remote-controlled device.

To expedite emergency care and give way to ambulances caught in traffic snarls, a new remote controlled device is being incorporated in to the automatic traffic signal system in the city.

As per the intelligent technology being introduced the traffic police man on duty at a given signal, could remote control the functioning of the traffic signal and make it flash green, (even so it flashes red) so as to facilitate the passage for the ambulances ferrying patients to various hospitals.

The traffic police man in the vital junction could switch on green signal, from a remote controlled device, as he sees an approaching ambulance caught in the traffic snarl due to the red signal. It would revert to its original red after the ambulance passes the signal.

This system would be incorporated in 15 vital road signals out of 55 existing road traffic signals in the city in the first phase. This system would help medical ambulances and fire tenders to beat the traffic and reach the place within the golden hour.
