10 year old boy succumbs to dengue at Government medical college hospital.


A 10 year old boy Praveen, of Sevur in Tiruppur district who was undergoing treatment for dengue has succumbed to the fever at the Government medical college hospital.

The boy who was referred to Government medical college hospital from a private hospital in Tiruppur had high fever and the blood test confirmed dengue infection. Despite treatment, the boy succumbed to his illness of July 14.

“It is recommended to go for a blood test (Elisa test) for dengue if fever persisted for more than three days. The boy’s parents got him admitted in a hospital in advanced stages of fever and he could not be saved” said Doctors.
