The mid-term Pension Adalat for the year 2017 was held to redress the grievances of the railway pensioners. The Pension Adalat was presided over by Shri Hari Shankar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem Division, Southern Railway. About 90 railway pensioners and beneficiaries attended the Pension Adalat and presented their grievances.
Totally, 98 representations were received, including 20 new applications, out of which, 51 were disposed off during the Pension Adalat itself in favour of the pensioners/beneficiaries and an amount of Rs.1,15,44,748/- (Rupees one crore fifteen lakhs forty four thousand seven hundred and forty eight only) was released in respect of their claims. Balance 27 representations could not be dealt, for want of relevant documents. The 20 new representations that were submitted during the Adalat, will be examined and disposed off at the earliest.
During the pension adalat, Shri Chandrapal, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, and Shri S. Thirumurugan, Divisional Personnel Officer, and other Salem Division Officers were present. The pensioners and beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and happiness over the quick disposal of their representations during the pension adalat.
