Traffic in Coonoor- Mettupalayam stretch thrown out of gear as wild elephants camp near highway.

Traffic in Coonoor- Mettupalayam highway  stretch  is affected as a  herd of wild elephants have camped near the  highway posing danger to the motorists.

A wild elephant herd numbering about five elephants was seen camping near the road side and blocking the road, thus  throwing traffic out of gear.



A team of forest officials headed by Periasamy ,Forest Ranger, and  Anti -Poaching Squad members are trying their best drive the elephant back into the forest area by using heavy machinery and other means.
