Segregation of wastes, the top priority of City Corporation.


In the recent times, segregation of waste at source has proved to be the topmost agenda of the city corporation. Campaigns to instill awareness among the residents to dispose wastes effectively and efficiently has been taking place in most parts of the city through the joint efforts of Corporation and ambassadors of Swachh Bharat Mission.

Not just the volunteers and NGO's are on ground to scrutinise the source but Corporation Commissioner Dr.K.Vijayakarthikeyan also follows ensure his part in transforming the city to practice 100% segregation.

During one of the routine ward inspection (ward 53), the Commissioner inquired with the sanitation staff on collection of wastes and also educated them to insist the residents to segregate household wastes at source, instead of dumping all wet, dry and sanitary wastes in one big bag.

Present with him were Deputy Commissioner, P.Gandhimathi, Assistant Commissioner of Central Zone, Annadurai and other officials from the Corporation.
